Dr. Andree

He will be joining us on Nov 30!🎉

For Dr. Ryan M. Andrée, returning to New Orleans is more than just a move—it’s a homecoming. A New Orleans native, 1995 graduate of Jesuit High School, and LSU graduate, Dr. Andrée is excited to be back in the city where his lifelong love of animals first began, bringing with him years of veterinary experience, a few interesting stories, and a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes.

Dr. Andrée’s love of animals began long before his career in veterinary medicine. Growing up in Metairie, he spent countless summer afternoons exploring neighborhood canals, catching turtles, frogs, snakes, and other wildlife with neighborhood friends. His backyard became a summer refuge for the animals he found, with baby pools and makeshift habitats providing temporary homes until he returned them to where he had found them.

Recognizing his natural affinity for animals, his family nurtured his interests and welcomed an extraordinary variety of pets into their home, including dogs, cats, ferrets, pigs, fish, reptiles, rodents, rabbits, and even a tarantula; however, they drew the line at a monkey.

After graduating from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Andrée moved to Galveston, Texas, where he advanced from associate to managing veterinarian at Galveston Veterinary Clinic and was afforded the unique opportunity to work with a diverse collection of zoo animals as a member of the animal care team at Moody Gardens Rainforest and Aquarium.

Despite his rewarding experiences in Texas, New Orleans never stopped feeling like home. Eager to return to his roots and be closer to family, Dr. Andrée is excited to join Ark Animal Hospital, where he looks forward to building meaningful and lasting relationships with clients and patients.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Andrée enjoys gardening, maintaining aquariums—a passion since childhood—and spending time with his son, Braeden, and his bulldog, Toula. Having played rugby for more than twenty years, he has remained actively involved as a coach.
